I've been looking at RIT for awhile and I hope to apply early next year as a Senior. I'm a bit worried about what to major in. I LOVE computers. I've taken Advanced 3D Graphics and Animation, and I'm taking AP CS next year along with Hypermedia (Flash animation) and Networking. I've taken VB Programming courses as a Freshman but found it to be kinda boring. 3D is kind of fun to me. However, AP CS is all about Java programming, so if I enjoy it, I'll considering getting a Software Engineer or CS degree.

RIT has a Game Design and Development BS and MS, but I heard it's better to get a traditional CS or SE degree instead, which is what Blizzard recommends. But CS and SE doesn't teach 3D modeling or animation, and Game Design and Development goes into the technical programming and 3D side.

I also have another dilemma! I learned trig and precalc stuff through Kumon way back in middle school, but after I stopped, everything went downhill. I took Alg1 in 8th grade, Alg2 in 9th, and when I moved in 10th grade, I had to take Functions Stats and Trig, instead of Precalc because I had a weak trig background. And as a Junior, I took precalc in the beginning of the year and FLUNKED, so I dropped it and took Discrete Math. I've become lazy, not very motivated (until now), and I'm worried that my math background will prevent me from getting a CS or SE degree (since during your freshman year you take Calc I,II, and III ).

And if I cant get a CS or SE, I'll probably do International Business since I'm pretty fluent in Japanese.

Please, give me advice on what to do, I'm really worried about my future.

Thanks!
