Getting into S117

Hey everyone,

Im gonna be a freshman in the fall.

I just took the CPE (chemistry placement exam) and got a 24, but I really wanted to be in S117 (honors) which requires a 25. Does anyone know if they'll be a bit lenient and let me in?

I did very well in my high school's chemistry and AP chemistry (was actually among the top students in my school, including getting to take the National Chemistry Olympiad), but since I had last taken AP Chemistry as a junior, some concepts were not as fresh in my head when I took the CPE. I got a 5 on the exam and 800 on the Chem subject test. I meet the other requirements for S117.

I plan on speaking to my advisor about it.

Thanks!

Mcfoofa,

I think that you belong to the S117 class based upon your description. It is a pretty competitive class though. Be ready to write a 10-page lab report about every week. There is not much room to slack off.

OP,
