getting into SFSU and SJSU

This year i will be applying to both schools from community college but i have a very low GPA. Right now it is sitting at about a 2.4 but hopefully at the end of this semester i can get it up to a 2.7. I wanted to know what my chances are of getting in. i really rather not wait another year. And is it possible to transfer in as an upper division student and finish some of my GE courses through my junior year? Also i have a half way decent personal statement and work experience in the business managerial field, which is my major at the moment, do they take that into consideration?

Admission to those schools is extremely numbers based, with a formula to determine eligibility, so it is difficult to assess you without knowing your SAT score. Depending on your SAT score, those two schools can range from sure admission to impossible. Check the CSU website to see the formula they use.

My gut feeling is that a 2.7/1300 (M+CR) should be sufficient to both schools.

For SFSU - if you have met all of the requirements for transfer students, you should be ok. Click on “am I eligible” on this link [Transfer - How to Apply - Future Students - San Francisco State University](http://www.sfsu.edu/future/apply/transfer.html#eligible) also check out the section on impacted majors to see how that would affect you (or if additional requirements are necessary).

For SJSU requirements are similar.

You do NOT need your SAT score as a transfer student. And no consideration will be given to your personal statement (not required) or work experience.
