<p>Athletics: 4-Year Varsity Golf; we are 2003, 2004, and likely 2005 league champions, top-10 team finishes at state.</p>

<p>Speech and Debate: qualified for state 9 times in three years; top-8 finish at state for debate in 2004; qualified in debate for National Forensics Tournament in Philadelphia in June; various awards at colllege and high school tournaments. Attended University of Oregon Debate Institute Summer '03. </p>

<p>Volunteering: Started a email newletter called "The Grandparent Connection," helps grandparents connect to their grandchildren. Began in 2003; I have more than 1,000 subscribers across country. <p>Interned last summer at a Marketing Firm that specialized in Minority/Small Business marketing and communications. (All summer, about 35 hrs/week)</p>

<p>I'm really only familiar with Emory and i would say you're practically guaranteed a spot there. I would suggest you apply for the Emory Scholar program to see if you can get some money out of them!</p>

<p>Agree with slipstream. But make sure you express your interest there. "Rumor" going around that they are big on interest. So get in touch with them, order a video, etc if you want an additional boost.</p>
