Getting into SUNYs with low B or high C average

Anyone know any students who were accepted in SUNY colleges like Fredonia, Cortland or Purchase with low B or hig C high schools GPAs? My daughter would prefer not to go to a community college is possible to have the “full college experience”.

Did she take the SAT or ACT?
If so how was her score in it?

Not yet. She is a junior and will be taking the SAT this Spring. She has traditionally not done well with testing though.

Depending on her SATs there are definitely some SUNYs that she’ll have a shot at. Alfred, Caton, Delhi, Morrisville for sure. The three you mentioned might be possible if she has other great things going for her like essays, teacher recs, or or extracurriculars.

Fredonia only requires an 85 GPA if my info is correct. (I’m also looking into it.)

@artie1 , My son was accepted into Alfred the other day

Got into Fredonia school of business with 2 college courses in highschool, 81 GPA, 1450 on the SAT, 500 MATH 480 English, asked for midterm grades and received 83 average and accepted me.

Thanks for the input- there’s hope then. Nice to hear!

Delhi is test optional and grade standards were not overly strong.
