Getting into the air force academy

hi im in 10th grade and i attend valley forge military academy. im hispanic and italian, and im interested in attending the air force academy. i play a lot of sports and im involved with clubs. i play soccer, swimming, and lacrosse for my school. im trying to start a club which raises money and sends school supplies to schools in africa. i love to play music. i’ve been playing the french horn for about 6 years, and i love to play the drums. my strongest classes are math and english. i just wanted to know what kind of chances i have and what i can do to get in. thanks

we get these all of the time, and this answer has been and will always be:

WE DON'T KNOW.

certainly having good grades and being active in activities and showing eladership helps. but honestly, none of us here have anything to do with it, and just b/c you look good or bad to us doesn't mean USAFA will think the same.

bottom line, if it's your dream, just work your hardest to make yourself the best candidate you can be and then see what happens

thanks im going to work really hard at this because its something that i really want to do

go for it, and i wish you the best.

if that sounded harsh to anyone, i'm not trying to be mean or deter anyone from asking questions on this site. i simply tell it how it is (sometimes in a harsher way than maybe is necessary, but that's just me and how i do it). this sight is mainly to help people who have questions about the academy and what we do, or about the application proccess. so if you have any questions like that, fire away.

and don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do it. just do your best and see what works out...

i agree and it wasnt harsh at all its the truth

It would also help if you included some stats/numbers. I can tell you my class had an average hs GPA of 3.81 and an average of like 630 and 650 on english and math SAT. Over 85% lettered in a varsity sport. Hopefully this gives you an idea.

Wait, isn't that the same place the Air Force sends some Falcon Scholarship recipients?
