Getting into The Ohio State University as an incoming sophomore

Hey guys, I am a freshman currently enrolled in community college and trying to transfer to Ohio State for my sophomore year. I got a 3.85 GPA as a freshman but my high school gpa was a 3.3 and a 20 on the act. The university required me to send both college and high school info because i had less than 30 credit hours…(24) I have 2 really good letter of recs, a solid personal statement and a lot of extracurricular in high school and in college. What do you think my chances are getting into OSU as a transfer student?

Same
I am also trying to transfer to Ohio State Mechanical engineering from Texas with 3.75 GPA at cc.

Have you already applied?? I applied the 14th of January and haven’t heard back yet :frowning:

make sure all of your materials are sent in (transcripts)

Your grades in math and science are going to be the most relevant. Grades in other classes less so.

I got in to Osu, with a 2.7 from OU and a 3.5 in highschool and 25 ACT in state  i sent my application 1/17 , all my transcripts were sent in and delivered the 24th, and i heard today on the 4th of feburary!

everything is in, i hope to hear back today!!!

are u transferring into your soph year blakebaby03??

Got accepted today!!!

@blakebaby03 Thanks so much ! That is so helpful! I am an instate transfer, I have a GPA of 2.86 at Northern Kentucky University right now, my high school GPA is a 3.6, and my ACT score was a 23. You really eased my thoughts. I applied finally on March 11, 2016, all my materials were received March 22, 2016… I had two college transcripts to send because I did dual enrollment in high school for spanish, but I am still waiting. Hope to hear soon!

@woofie14 What were your credentials? And how long did it take to get accepted?

@woofie14 Never mind, I see it took five days from your materials all being received to get accepted. I saw that now. What were your credentials though? I am getting nervous now :frowning:

I got in today!!! I am so excited!
