Getting into Thornton as a piano performance major?

I am just curious as to what you current USC (preferably Thornton) students think of my chances of being accepted into Thornton as a piano performance major. And without further adieu, here are my stats.

FYI: my current college GPA (after 2 semesters) is 3.8

My current playable piano repertoire:

Rachmaninoff: Preludes in C# minor and G minor
Debussy: Clair De Lune
Bach: Sinfonia #5 and Fugue BWV 952
Mozart: Sonata K545 1st Mvt
Grieg: Nocturne Op. 54 no. 4

And then on a none classical note:

Scott Joplin: Maple leaf Rag, Entertainer, and Solace.

I haven't had any notable competition experience, but I have attended international masterclasses, where I played for Dr. True (Eastman School of Music).

So, how do you think I would fare up to Thornton's standards, assuming that I can play these pieces very well?

Grasshoppa, you will find much more help on cc’s music forum, including for Thornton.

My son is a Thornton rising junior. Your grades are fine by Thornton standards, so it will be very much about your prescreen and audition. Have you checked online to see the prescreen and audition requirements for your instrument? Sometimes they are very specific about what they want, so it’s not necessarily what you want to play.

Again, go to the music forum, and best of luck.
