Right now, I am working on my BSW in social work at very average university. I am really interested in a couple of the top social work programs including the University of Michigan's dual masters program for social work and public policy. I am also very interested in top programs such as Washington University (St. Louis) and Berkeley, but I want to have a realistic idea about my chances of getting in.

When I graduate, I expect to graduate with honors (Cum Laude) with a 3.5 overall GPA, and at least a 3.7 for my major/last 60 credits. I will have one year of social work job experience from my internship that I will be doing my entire senior year next year. In addition, I will have experience in campaigning and politics because of my past internship with the Michigan Democratic Party. I will also have classes such as calculus, statistics, and economics on my academic record.

I am an independent status student who is low income, so any input on scholarships for my background is welcome too. I do not really know anyone who has applied to any of the top MSW programs, so all I know is that they're extremely competitive. I have no one to really compare my gpa or experience with, so any replies would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
