Getting into Tulane?

Tulane is my first choice and I’m applying Single Choice Early Action for Class of 2020

Stats:
*ACT: 29 (gonna retake for a 30+)
*GPA: 3.5
*High School Profile: public school in Dallas area
*Class Rank: 127/539 (weak due to personal/family issues)
*APs: made a 3 on Bio, plan to take Bio, U.S. History, European History, Chemistry

*ECs:
Student Council Officer (11,12)
National Honor Society member (11,12)
Founder/President of my school’s Science Club and Science UIL team (9,10,11,12)
Participated in Science UIL (11,12)
Drill Team Officer (9)
School Newspaper and Yearbook, photographer and editor (9,10)
Lab Manager (applied and elected) for school and district’s science departments (10,11,12)
Started an after school tutoring program for local elementary school kids (11,12)
Volunteered with media department at my church (9,10,11,12)
Volunteered every Saturday for 2 hours during school year at the local library (11,12)
Volunteered for a city environmental program (11,12)
Worked 30+ hours/wk sophomore year, 20/wk junior year

Hook: Low income (less than $30k) and first generation college student
Essays: Strong; wrote Why Tulane after visiting campus

I’d say your chances are fairly strong. Your stats are pretty in line for the average for Tulane. But getting your ACT to above 30 would certainly help you application.
