Getting into UNC Chapel Hill

Hi! I’m Caroline and I really want to get into Chapel Hill. Please leave any comments/suggestions below.

Grade: junior
State: northern Virginia
Sports: co-Ed varsity golf all 3 years (lettered all 3 and became a captain junior year)- I helped the team go to our first regionals (since 2008) sophomore year… As well as our first states (since 1987) junior year. I also placed 7th out of 60 girls at Girls’ States

Service: member of National Charity League (mother-daughter organization that does all kinds of service for others), planning to volunteer at a hospital

I’m in the National Honors Society. I plan to be in math honors society and science honors society next year.
I’m planning on doing an internship at INOVA hospital in the summer.
I’ve been president of my class all 3 years of high school.
I received honorable mention in regional science fair.
My brother went to Chapel Hill for undergrad and is now getting his PhD in physics there.

I definitely think you have a decent chance of getting into UNC-CH. In my personal opinion, your W GPA is a little low for the typical UNC applicant, however you have a lot of other stuff going for you :slight_smile: (legacy and EC). Do you hold any leadership positions?
See if you can get a really good ACT score to compensate for your GPA!

Yay!! Thank you. My leadership position is class president. I’ve been class president since freshman year.
