Getting into UPitt from a CC?

I know this might be a long shot but has anyone ever transferred from a CC to UPitt or a college similar to it?

I'm on the verge of getting my associates degree from my local CC and am looking to go to Pitt. I'm basically looking at an average gpa of about 3.1 and around 60 credits.

I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket but this literally is the only school I want to attend. If I end up not getting in, I would have to just go to Temple here in Philly.

Just wanted some feedback, or info. Anything would help!

I don’t know what Pitt’s transfer requirements are, but I am certain that many people have transferred there from CCs. That is true of virtually all public flagships.

I got my transfer acceptance letter from U of Pitt 2 weeks ago. Still deciding either to choose Temple or U of Pitt. I am majoring in CS with a CC gpa of 3.42.

I think there should be an award letter coming soon, but does anyone know?

How many credits did you have? did you complete two full years of CC?

I have completed 45 credits at the time of applying. I completed my full two years at CC.

How’d you do in high school? GPA wise?

did they even look at that?

My high school years were terrible. I was a good A student with good attendance until junior year. The last two years I was cutting school a lot and doing bad. I explained the discrepancy on my college essay. I believed I had a 3.31 HS GPA. I have a dozen of ECs though such as Honors society. I didn’t attach or mention anything about them but the HS might list them? U of Pitt will need your HS to send the transcripts btw.

They may ask for a HS transcript, but good performance in college trumps bad performance in HS. Same goes for activities – once they have college data, that is what matters.

I was basically the same way as I’mdown in high school. And in floating around a 3.0 right now which is annoying because I know they need Atleast that.
