Hello everyone, I am new to the forums and had a question that I hope can be answered.

I am a current Senior in high school and have started the rigorous application process. I go to an IB school and have straight A's (4.91 GPA). My SAT is not the best, at 1300 for Math and Critical Reading. (Math = 620). (Reading = 680). I am very active, as the Student Council President, member of National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. I play Varsity football, I am the Captain of the Varsity Basketball team, and I run track. I volunteer at a Cancer Center where I have accumulated hundreds of hours of Community Service. (Basically, I have strong extracurriculars.)

My top college choice at the moment is Vanderbilt University. I plan on applying Early Decision. I know regular decision admissions rate for Vanderbilt is around 21%, but Early Decision jumps up to around 40%. I have also heard some stories about some kids getting into Top Ivy League schools, but not getting accept into Vanderbilt for some reason.

The only weakness I feel I have is my SAT score, which again the Math and CR = 1300... My writing is 660 if that makes a difference.

My question is do you all think with my credentials, that I could get into Vanderbilt applying Early Decision?

Thanks so much for the help!
