Hello, I'm a Junior in high school. I am seriously looking into USMA West Point as well as their SLS this summer of 2011. I'm not the smartest of all kids, I'm probably in the top 200-300 of about 850 of my class. I am a participant in 3 scholastic sports, football wrestling tennis, all varsity none captains however. The main thing is I am class president of the 3rd largest school district in the state (850 in a graduating class). I also have a fair community service and leadership background. My PSAT were extremely poor, 48 CR 50 M 53 W/G. My SAT is ranging around a 1600/2400, and I will be taking the ACT in February. Is there any chance of, first, getting into SLS, and second, or West Point?

what is your GPA specifically? your athletic background looks pretty strong, how many total letters, including your past years? If you are a great athlete, but not so great in your academic background, you still may have a chance to be invited to the Prep school. Your SAT scores are very weak, make sure to bring them up this year. I went from a 1500 to a 1800 in a matter of 2-3 months because i was dedicated.you can too. Id say you have a positive possibility of getting into SLS, and even Westpoint if you keep working at it. Also try to bring up the volunteer hours, that will help out alot in the long run
