Getting into wharton after deferral?

first of all congrats to everyone who got accepted yesterday, you worked hard and you deserve to go to your dream school. anyways I was deferred from wharton and was wondering if anyone knew what the chances are of getting in in April. i know something like 10% of deferred kids get in, but im interested to know if anybody happens to know how it is for wharton. im kind of upset since i had my heart set on the school. i thought that if you dont get in, then you just get deferred, but after seeing that some people got rejected, it gives me a little bit of hope that they kept me for a reason. any suggestions as to what i can do to improve my chances will be greatly appreciated.

Ditto, deferred from College.
I don't get it. Everyone who commented on my chances from CC said I had a good-to-great shot.
Now I have to wait 4 months... I wish so bad that I could be part of that 10% that gets in after being deferred.

deferall for me to wharton. my cousin got in after being deffered so its possible. I heard 12% somewhere.
Just hope for the best

Same - deferred from Wharton. I'm so ****ed!
I'm screwed too because I will definitely have 2 B's this semester.. and my midterm grades will be horrible because my classes are so hard!

Same for me only i applied to the dual degree which was wharton and nursing and I was deferred.
If you look back at the app it said on the dual (green one) sheet that there was a higher probability of deferral if you apllied to a joint program. This was because they wanted to give the regular decision app. people a shot at admission to such a small program (10 kids). Do you think since I we was deferred from the dual program I was accepted to the nursing school. If i was deffered from the nursing school ( not good enough) why would i not just be rejected your thought please!
also what are you doing to reverse your deferral

I will have one b is that awful. its in ap stat. my counsler said it didnt matter

PennHunter, you were deferred ?! I thought everyone was saying you'd be in.

Anyway, in terms of reversing the deferral, I don't think there's much to do. I'm not gonna be getting any new awards over the next few months, so other than like, writing a letter to Penn or sending in some random rec from Idk where, I don't think there's much to do.

And yeah, my mid-year report is definitely not as good as my junior year grades... Is the mid-year report a factor in admissions? I didn't think it was, I thought it was just so they could check that you aren't getting Cs and Ds in all your classes... ?

well i think it might be if you were differed. I was shocked when i checked my decision. My Counselor cried and i didnt :( . but anyway do you think i was accepted to the nursing school and they just didnt tell me because they didnt know about wharton yet?

PennHunter, is that the Life Sciences dual degree? Vagelos? Don't they have 25 people total?

and the only way to reverse your deferral is to have amazing senior grades and midterms.. arghhhh

i asked my interviewer what to do if i were deferred, he said you can send in a letter to show interest, good awards, original compositions, maybe supplementary essays (i've heard advice against this one tho), and definitely keep up your grades... midterm reports are not a big factor only if you've been accepted.

best of luck to your guys!!!! <3 <3

no its nursing and healthcare management
vagelos would almost be like premed + wharton

dang it, I will have a B in AP Calculus and a B in Honors Chemistry.

I suck at science...and chemistry is hard for me.

There is a SMALL chance that I can pull an A in Chemistry (I have to get an A on the final, which is made by the state and is hard). Calc...little or no chance of an A.

Will this kill my chances if I have 2 B's?

I have gotten all A's except B in Spanish 2, 3, and 4.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna have a high B in English. =/
Bye Penn...

But seriously, if there's any way of getting in contact with someone who was accepted at Penn after being deferred, I think we could all benefit from that... If anyone who fits this description is out there...
