i was admitted to umd as a scholar...havent heard anything concerning my school of choice (smith for business). is it safe to assume that if iw as accepted as a scholar, i most likely got into mys chool of choice? if not would i be admitted as like a general studies, or like lsa or somehting? im not sure about this

yea, same here. I was accepted to the honors program, but I don't know if I got in the engineering school.

i ahve a feeling if anybody ahs gotten scholar/gemstone/honors you will probably get your school? is that wrong? and if you dont get into your school, what would u be admitted as?

I know that if you don't get accepted to your LEP school, you get into your second choice, which you chose in the app. Mines physics :(

dumb question...but what does LEP stand for, what is it?

limited enrollment program i think

limited enrollment program

my first choice was an LEP.. I dont remember what my second choice was lol.. I think I put undecided

which programs are LEPs?

pj1213, LEP=Limited Enrollment Programs..........some majors have limited amount of space(ex. business), so it is not a fact that you will be accepted even if its your first choice

hmmm ok...is being admitted as a scholar a good sign to be admitted to your LEP choice? i really dont remember what i put as my second choice and im a lil nervous now

i hope i get into the business school... its one of the hardest ones to gain admission on campus... :(

if you don't put a second choice, you'll be admitted into the college of letters & sciences. then you can either choose a different major or stay "undecided" for a few semesters while you complete undergrad classes and try to later transfer into the school of your choice. [i know it works this way for the business school; other LEPs probably have similar requirements.]

getting into scholars/honors/etc. is not a guarantee you'll get into your LEP.

At the top of the "Enrollment Confirmation" you should receive via snail mail, it says your major. So look for it there! Good luck everyone!

i know a lot of people in scholars business that aren't in the business school yet. I don't really ask why they aren't in it. Maybe when they applied they didn't list business as their major or maybe they just were denied admission to smith. Yeah, what lindz said, the programs don't garantee you any LEP programs.

if it says The Robert H. Smith School of Business on our Maryland Planner --- does that mean we got in?

greerwil congratulations your into smith!!! mine said that too if you don't have that on there (like ur second choice shows up or you have division of letters and sciences) then you didn't get in. but you did so good job. by the way did you get honors or scholars?

On my planner, they put my school and major I applied for (Biochemistry, College of Chemical and Life Sciences). I don't remember if I put a second chioce or not...

xtefii -- I posted the thing about getting into your intended major on a friends screen name, greerwil but thanks for your info on the Maryland Planner and getting into the business school; I was worried!

And yeah, I got into honors, which is exciting I'm assuming but I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out, haha. What about you?
