Getting less financial aid money every year

This is going to be my third year at FSU, I am on the pell grant.. For freshman year i received about 9k in grants/scholarships. 2nd year about 8k and this year about 5.5 k... why is rthis

BTW I've made president lists twice and deams list twice, 3.81 overall

I only know about the University scholarship and Bright Futures FAS.
I assume you met the minimum credit requirements as well as the wonderful GPA you were able to achieve.
The University scholarship is the same amount every year so that should not have decreased.
Bright Futures has increased for tuition but decreased for the book amount. Bright Futures does not cover the increase in the transportation fee, the new fsucard fee and the new facility fee.

Why don't you contact the Office of Financial Aid to ask why the pell grants have decreased?

It appears that the Bright Futures FAS is not covering the new facility use fee but it seems to cover the transportation fee.

Contact OFA and see why...

First thing to check is your FAFSA EFC. Has it gone up? The Pell grant is directly related to your EFC with a full Pell grant being awarded for a 0 EFC then the amount of Pell gradually reducing as the EFC increases until you are not Pell eligible with an EFC of 4042. Other grants are also linked to the EFC - for instance many schools only give the SEOG award to students with a 0 EFC. Also the ACG is related to Pell eligibility but is only for 1st and 2nd year students. For 3rd and 4th year students it is replaced by the SMART grant but is only available for certain majors.

Pell is not related to GPA at all.
