Getting logged out

Why the silence? This is really annoying.

Continuing to have the issue where when I ‘sign in to comment’, I end up back at the forum main page, instead of on the page where I wanted to comment.

I couldn’t log in on my phone this morning. I got the message, “Oops! An error occurred.” I tried a couple of times.

And yes, now I’m hitting Back and getting to the main page. For me, this is a new blip.

@mainelonghorn do you know anything about what’s going on with this? This has been going on for almost a month.

@romanigypsyeyes, no, I don’t. There are several issues that have been reported to the Vanilla forum people, and we’re waiting to hear what they say. :frowning:

I can understand that troubleshooting (and then fixing) takes time. What would help is occasional confirmation the range of issues is recognized. Some of us seem to have different symptoms. But all of this seems to have started at roughly the same time.

So here I was, all set to pile on about the login issue but just as I finished composing a post, good ole Murphy’s law kicked in and now it appears to be working…the only thing that changed for me was updating my iphone’s iOS - here are the details:

Iphone 6
iOS 10.1.1 (just updated 30 minutes ago)
College Confidential version 2.5

So I guess the question is, did the ccAdmins change something on their end or did the iOS update fix this?

Just one more data point - One work around I discovered when I was having the login issue, was to use the back arrow that appears on the top banner that loads when reading a thread…I found by using that “back arrow” I wasn’t logged out where as using the “back arrow” on the bottom of the page banner would log me out every time.

Also, I only experienced the login issue on when using the mobile app and it varied depending on the way I used it. I have never experienced the issue when using my PC. Here is my PC Info:

Windows 10 Home (up to date with all security patches)
Browser: Opera version version: 41.0.2353.46

I’m accessing CC on my laptop and am still having to log in. It’s not fixed for me.

I also had the log in issue on my iPhone this morning. CC kept telling me I had the wrong username or password. Um…no I didn’t! Couldn’t log on from phone.

There have been a few times in the last couple of days that I have hit thst “log in” on my iPad…and NOTHING has happened…at all.

Not fixed on phone or computer either. Just had to re-login on both.

Ugh. It’s especially annoying on my phone since when I log in, it takes me back to the home page and not back to where I was…

Most of the time it happens on my phone…but occasionally on my laptop too.

And, yes, still happening.

I know we’re not paying customers but the website still makes money off of us… it seems like we deserve something other than radio silence for weeks on end.

Still happening on laptop, ipad and phone.

For me…it’s actually gotten worse on my phone. There are times I can’t log in…at all.

I think we’ve learned 2 things here:

  1. Vanilla forums software is trash.
  2. The "tech team" is the same group who made the original healthcare.gov
