So I’m a sophomore and I’m taking AP Bio-obviously. My final is on Thursday and I recently dropped from a 93 to an 89 in the class because of a bad test grade and a vocabulary quiz. I know I’m not going to get a great grade on the final, so I’m going to end up with a B in the class. I’ve never gotten a B before, and I am freaking out. The class has 10% curve, so it will look like a A weighted (hopefully), but I’ve heard colleges only care about unweighted grades, I take so much pride in my grades, and I’ve been trying so hard in this class, and it’s just not gonna show in my grade. I just need some advice on what to do. Like what did everyone else do when they got their first B? Especially when it’s going to show and matter to colleges later on.
No college expects perfection. Getting a B or a C is OK. Just limit them as best as you can. Meet with your teacher weekly to get a better understanding of the material. Many use sites like Khan Academy https://www.khanacademy.org/
If you’re freaking out over a single B, you might want to learn to deal better with stress and disappointment. Life will be full of Bs and Cs.
“I’ve heard colleges only care about unweighted grades,” - where have you heard that? Course rigor is a very important factor in college admissions.
