Getting My Recs From Some Good People

One of my recs I'm getting from a multi-billionaire who is a very influential figure in Silicon Valley. The other rec I'm getting from a prestigious Cornell University professor. Problem is that my SAT's are low (1930). Do you think Upenn's admission office will take a good look at my recs and could possibly overlook my low score. I didn't earn them through any family connection as I run my own financial website surrounding alternative energy.

if those guys are also influential in Upenn community or have connections, the recs will be good for you. Anyway time will pass quickly, and you'll learn soon.. no worries :)

SATs may be lower than you would like, but are not "low". Penn will focus more on your academic record and how rigorous your courseload was.

As to the recommendations, their impact will depend not upon who they are from, but on how well these individuals actually know you and can add real personal information about your abilities, etc.

Good luck!
