I had a gpa of 1.7 and after completing my summer session i raised it to a 2.08. I will go to my schools fafsa office tomorrow but i was wondering has anyone gone through this? Were you able to receive fafsa the following semester since you did everything to fix it? TIA
You donât âreceive fafsaâ. The fafsa is a financial aid application form. You arenât going to a fafsa office. You will be going to your school financial aid office.
Here is the deal. Your 1.7 gpa likely meant you did not meet satisfactory academic progress which is why you were not eligible to receive need based financial aid from your school. You need to find out what the process is to appeal your status as not meeting SAP. Your school should be able to tell you that process, and what you need to doâŚin terms of forms to fill out, and their timeline.
You can google your college name and âsatisfactory academic progressâ and see if the student handbook comes up. Read and understand the policies about SAP, appeal and reinstatement.
