Getting off the Wait List

Hey guys, so just wondering if anyone has any idea how to show the admissions 'your interest' in the college? Read a couple of blogs and they all suggest doing this but I am not sure how. Pitzer is one of my top choices and would absolutely love to go there. But I also don't want to appear obnoxious or something by sending too much or the wrong stuff. Plus, what exactly can you put into the additional information section on the wait list form?

For context, I am an international student asking for financial aid, decent SAT, SAT Lit 800, did the IBDP (like taking APs), multiple leadership (student council, etc), love engaging in community service and such, took a gap year (traveling, writing, service), etc.

Help anyone? Especially if any previously accepted wait list student could give any insight?

Anyone at all?

Hi lifeismore,

Honestly, a lot about getting off the waiting list is going to be about a) how many students they yield and b) how much financial aid they have left over.

I think that it might be a bit harder because you’re an international student looking for fin. aid, but I think the best thing you could do would be to write a letter, concise and to the point, highlighting the reasons that you want to join Pitzer and what you will bring to the community there. The additional information section, as I see it, is just one more way to remind the staff about your commitment to the College’s values and the possible contributions/future you hope to have at the College.

Good luck!

Hey Erdnase808. Thank a lot for your help. I know it’ll be much tougher since I am international and asking for aid but heres hoping it works out anyways :)
