Getting Off the Waitlist for a Course

Hey guys; this is fairly specific so I’m not sure if anyone has a definitive answer, but I figured I’d try anyway. I’m currently on the waitlist for a course this semester; however, I’m also currently enrolled in a course that meets at the same time. I’d rather take the waitlisted course (although I’m fine with the enrolled course too), and there’s a decent-ish chance I can get off the waitlist. But if I do move up in my waitlist position to number one, will I get an email or something from student center asking if I want to accept the spot in the class? Or will it try to automatically enroll me? Or will student center skip over me entirely because I’m enrolled in another class meeting at the same time? If it looks like I’m going to get in off the waitlist, should I drop the class I’m enrolled in so that student center can pull me off the waitlist but potentially risk losing my spot in the enrolled class?

Sorry that’s a lot of ways of asking the same question; I guess I’m just not entirely sure how the student center system responds in this scenario.
