Hi all,
I am kind of anxious about the situation I am in right now :(. I am wondering the chance of getting off the waitlist for a Masters program in Education. The size of the class is really small in this school, but it is my dream school. I emailed the admission office and they told me that the waitlisted candidates are not ranked and they can only decide who to admit from the waitlist after the April 15 deadline. Their selecting principle is to select people from the waitlisted pool to create a diverse student body. I have got admitted to a similar program in another Ivy League school.
I am wondering is it ethical to deposit to my admitted school and then join my dream school program if I got admitted, so that I will still have a place to go? Also, if I deposited to my admitted program, will the admission office in the waitlisted school know about it and then decide not to offer me admission? Last but not least, should I send in another email expressing my continued interest in the waitlisted program, after indicating my interest in a letter I sent last month (They do not encourage candidates to send more application material, but I am guess an email will be fine?)
Thank you all in advance and best of luck in your life and studying!
