So, I've been thinking, what can I do to show the admissions office that I'm interested in entering the school, upon being wait listed? Sure, you can call them, but what do I say? Do I ask random things such as "what's the average GPA", "how big are the classes" and whatnot? In my mind, it just seems plain awkward to call them and say something like "Hi. My name is so and so from so and so and I wanted to know if...".

Any advice?

What I did was call the school and asked them if there was anything I could do after being waitlisted. I also told them how this school was my top choice and I'll do anything to help get me off the waitlist. Just don't sound desperate.

What did they reply to you when you asked that?
And saying "I'll do anything" kinda sounds desperate :/

I didn't exactly say that I'd do anything. Just somewhere along those lines. They told me to just write them an interest letter and keep in touch later to make sure I'm still on the waitlist.
