Getting out of PLME

when I submitted part I of my brown app I was interested in the PLME program. Now, after thinking about it, I realize that I probably wouldnt make the cut b/c my stats are horrendous. I have a 2170 SAT and a 790 and a 780 for my top 2 SAT II. This will probably not be enough so I was wondering if I could call the brown admission office to change it to regular decision only. Is this possible or is it too late? Please help!!

dude, chill.

Your stats are like the median for PLME. Your chances are good (or at least as good as everyone else). The worst that can happen is rejection, and you're not spending any extra money for the plme app. Why not just let them read it?

blah123, calm down.

honestly, numbers do not matter half as much as health-related extracurriculars... and a 790and 780 SAT II is nothing to be ashamed of... you'll be fine :)

If you really don't want PLME just write an e-mail to Brown letting them know.

lol...i called the office...looks like theyre out until jan 1 -___-

i guess i have to do the plme portion now....lol.

you dont HAVVVE to.....
more spots for us accel. med ppl ;)

as I understand it, to get accepted into the PLME program, you must first be accepted into the university. i wouldn't worry about retracting your application.

ok let's break this down:

2170
790
780

and panicking? Don't make me feel like a retard. Those numbers are really good.

It's not too late. Try e-mailing them too, but I wouldn't let your scores stop you from applying to PLME. Your scores are fine.

you might have to write a signed letter to them and mail it. That's what you have to do for major changes. That's what im thinking about doing for switching from Chemistry in Arts to Biology in Arts (it also gets me out of that personal chemistry statements).

You've been reading one too many CC "chance me" threads. No need to panic.

I thought we could still be accepted RD and not PLME??

Or am I wrong? If we don't make the cut for PLME, we are no longer even considered for REGULAR acceptance?

wat?!:confused::eek:

You can be accepted for RD if you don't get PLME. You had it right, don't worry....

The OP just chose the PLME option, but doesn't want to do the PLME app becasue he doesn't think he would make the cut anyway.
