Hi everyone. I just finished a paid summer research fellowship in the Molecular and Integrative Physiology department at the University of Michigan. I spoke to my current lab at my university (University of Pennsylvania) and found out that my lab does not have funds to pay me for this year. Do medical schools value paid research more than unpaid even though I would have my own project either way? Or is your contribution to the lab more important? If you could help answer my questions, that would be great. Thanks.
