Getting pumped for PSAT scores.

Someone dabble with me. I can't wait till December comes -- I'm anxious on whether I actually met my goal (>NMSF cutoff), anxious because I made high claims, yet did very little to actually show for it (took it as a sophomore last year, took a practice the day before).

I am also quite ancy to see my scores... I'm hoping for:

(Best Case Scenario) 78 CR/69 M/77 W= 224
(Worst Case Scenario) 70 CR/64 M/69 W= 203

I only had a 2020 on the SAT, so I hope to redeem myself in some sense through the PSAT and National Merit. I'm basically at the mercy of the curves though :/. I found the critical reading section incredibly simple compared to the november SAT I had...hoping for 2 wrong. I'm rather certain I scored in that region. (thanks to the efforts of Vinny380 to post the questions in a chat, and for Jasonng for sending me it)

Only ~3 more weeks until the majority of us are receiving some sort of score report, and ~1-2 weeks before this year's edition of the PSAT extra is posted on cb, along with curves, percentiles, etc.

Yeah I really want NMSF, UF (where i plan to go) gives a ton of money for it.

(Best case scenario) = 78 CR, 80M, 80W = 238
(worst case scenario) = 68CR, 70M, 70W = 208. Floridas cutoff is around 215. :-/

Edit: I bet i won't get them back untill after winter break though. We get out for winter break on like December 15 or something.

I know how you guys feel - last year I was going through the exact same thing, practically obsessing over what score I was going to get. Looking back now, I was much more nervous about hearing about my PSAT score in December than I am now about finding out whether or not I get into my top choice school.

Eventually when my score came I was really excited for a while, and I pretty much knew I was going to be a semifinalist, but when the time came and the announcement was actually made it just seemed like it wasn't that big of a deal anymore.

Don't let the worrying get to you. Like me, you'll realize that your score on a 2 hour test, whether youre a semifinalist or not, doesn't tell you anything about yourself other than how well you can fill in a scantron.

yes, exrunner, you and I happen to be in the same boat...I hope Florida's cutoff doesn't rise anymore...and I also plan to attend UF.

oh, the agony.

Oh, I can't wait, either! I'm so nervous and excited. I was hitting about 226-230 on practice tests, and MD's NMSF cutoff is 222. Arg! I've got to make it!

Just wait, though. I'll get a 221 or something silly like that.

OMG I need my 222! I'm hoping 77 M / 78 W / 67 CR at the very least.

It would be nice to get a perfect 240 but I'll settle for a 223... Please be a perfect score.

Which validates that I really can't wait until the scores come in. I think I'm more anxious about this score than I ever was for AP and I paid a whole lot more for those tests.

Wildcat - you are prob right .. but for some reason... i am anxious about my scores!!

I dont think i got semi-finalist ... and oh god - maybe not commended!!! NOOOOOO
Based on the number I i got wrong...:
Cr-8 (ouch) =((((((
Wr- 3 =/
M-3 + 1 grid =(

Can someone give me an estimate of wht you think i will get in Cr,M, and WR ..? Obviously, we do not know the curves... but give u best guess.... i cant believe i am still worrying about this thing .... thanks

wait do the scores come out on the 1st of december?

I have a bad feeling about my scores: the more I looked at the discussion threads, the more my hopes started to dwindle...

Vinny380:
Last year, missed 8 is 63 on CR
Writing is probably a 77
Math is like a 67

ahh im so nervous about my scores lol...hoping for 222 (cutoff in CT) but i think i messed up on one of the CR passages and might have made some careless errors in math.
Good luck to all though! : )

anyone know the date they come out? or is it just "sometime in december?"

thanks

Around the middle of December. No specific date. They mail scores to your school and your house.

wow 3 + 1 grid wrong and a 670 ... i hate math

I am scared about my scores. Hopefully i can pull off commended. You other forum users seem scary good at PSAT since your expecting finalist.

not me =/.......

I am soooooooooooooooooooo nervous, lol

I'm mad stoked.
