Are we asked to donate food or something?

I am interpreting it to be more like a huge pot luck? Okay vets we need your assistance on this one.......Slabtown any suggestions for us new parents.

We have a rather extensive email group to plan and communicate with. If you will send me your email address I will pass it on. Mine is slabtown4@yahoo.com.

Some parents provide food and some help with funding. Both are needed because we also need to purchase the paper goods and such.

If you are not contacted before the season keep in mind that a side dish such as baked beans, pasta salad, or slaw is always appreciated. Keep in mind that there will be as many different tastes as there are locations that these guys come from. You are bound to make a large group happy whatever you bring.

The parents in our group are all eager to talk with other parents about their son's experiences. We have all had plebes and want to make it easier on the next generation of students and parents. Please don't be afraid to approach the group and get involved. In the past we have set up at the north end of the home side bleachers.

If you are at the games, or not, your son or daughter is in the same boat (a little pun there) as ours. The day you dropped them off you became one of us. Maybe we have experienced it longer but we are always eager to lean on each other and we all continue to share the anxiety of these students being at a service academy and wanting them to do well. You are about to meet a great bunch of parents and midshipmen. We look forward to meeting you, too.

Slabtown, does the same hold true for the away games? I'll be at the first game at Kean. I'd like to help.

I forgot to mention that my son is either first or second team fullback and he's a PC. We are so excited!!

Yes, a cadre of parents feeds the team after away games too. Look them up shortly before the end of the game. If all else fails, follow the team after the game.

It is a lot of fun. We will be at the CG game in New London.

Does anyone know if they are going to broadcast the scrimmage against Suny Maritime?

KPFootballMOM--e-mailed the coach and they do NOT broadcast any scrimmages. (BOO-HOO)! I just also found out that my P/C might not make the travel team and he might not be at the first game. Oh well...I guess we just have to wait and see. If your PC is on the football team and you want to help with the refreshments after the game, either in person or financially, contact Rick at usmmamidatlanticparents.org he is the organizer for the "tailgaiting" at each game, home and away.

FYI--all Football parents--(now this information is according to my PC...)

All team members will be attending both Kean and USCG games, regardless of whether they will be playing. All team members WILL be travelling with the team.

I just thought you might want to know.

Only those playing travel with the team. I thought they all went to all games no matter what their playing status is?

My understanding is (and this is NOT from the coach) that all football players (both travel and not) are going to the away games of Kean and USCG.

Other than those two games, the whole team doesn't travel?

That's correct supermansmom...Only the designated travel team travels to away games. I don't know how many are on that team.

Usually that means first and second string will travel...third string and beyond do not.

Anybody know for sure how many travel?

Want to wish all the boys good luck with there scrimmage against the SUNY maritime team.

Show them how "Real" Mariners play football.

Good luck this year "except against CGA", it might be Kings Point year.

Did anyone go to the scrimmage.......highlights.....thoughts?
