Getting really frustrated... RU Admissions

Hi. I sent my application along with all of the required materials in before the extended deadline (11/15), and even received a letter from them via mail on 11/13, saying that they have everything. Until today, all of the schools I've applied to said that my application was "In Process". My weighted GPA is a 3.08 (yes, it's pretty low) and my SAT score is 1880 (CR+W+M). I've been reading topics on this board, and many say that my stats are more than enough to get into Rutgers without any problems. I've applied to Arts & Sciences in NB, Business in NB, Criminal Justice in Newark, and Arts & Sciences in Camden.

Today, all statuses except for Camden changed to "7th semester grades requested". Why are they requesting for my 7th semester grades, if my stats should be enough to be accepted? Also, I applied before the early action deadline - why should I wait until after the 7th semester (around the beginning of February) if I applied early? I applied to Rutgers after being told that I shouldn't have any problems getting in. Now, I'm extremely frustrated; I've been doubting my abilities, and now I'm worried that I'd be forced to go to a community college (not my preference). I'm from New Jersey, by the way.

hey bk!
ik how you feel. i’ve been waiting for my answer for 3 months…
well i got into criminal justice in newark about week after i applied. but my engineering and School of Environmental and Biological Sciences in both NB didn’t come till 2 months after i applied. Im still waiting for my pharmacy.

i think you would get in for art and science in both camden and NB and CSI in newark. i would say business in NB is hard for you.
and i just think they want to see ur 7th semester grade because i think you in the boarder line.
but dont give up!
im sure you will get ur answers soon!
goodluck!

First of all relax.

You have above average stats; your sat score is more than enough for all the schools you listed. However, because your GPA is barely above 3, Rutgers wants you to send in this semester’s grades. That way, they will know that you have at least good grades. If your grades are good this semester, you will get in without a doubt. Rutgers just wants to make sure of that. Otherwise, they would never ask you to send in the grades; instead they would just flat out reject you.

Hope that helped.

Ugh… I’ve just been very frustrated for the past month, because some of my friends (with similar stats) have been accepted within two weeks of applying… Thanks for the clarification though. Really appreciate it.

Haha I feel the same way you do man its so annoying and we basically have the same stats.
