Getting really, really, really frustrated

I'm a sophomore and I am doing well in college. However, I feel that I will not find a major to pursue. I know I want to do something with foreign language, but then my question is what do I do with it? I'm getting really frustrated with picking what I am going to do with my life and I feel like that I will not find it and I should drop out.

Currently, I am at a community college. My first year of college was terrible. So, because of that first year I decided to go to a local community college. However, I feel that even if I am here it is impossible for me to find something to pursue because I am useless.

So, can someone give me some advice to help me with my frustration?

Maybe college is not to your taste at the present time? There are other ways to learn and build a portfolio of skills that will eventually lead to a job.

If you’re interested in learning languages, why not consider traveling/living abroad for 6 months to a year? You can live very, very cheap in places like Central America and parts of Asia, gain fluency in a major language or two and perhaps offset some costs by teaching English to the locals – native speakers are prized, if only to be used for practicing conversational English.

By taking yourself out of your routine and your comfort zone, you’ll gain some real perspective. You may well return home refreshed and motivated to now do your best in college.
