<p>So if I want to apply for some scholarships and programs, I need a rec letter from a professor. The thing is, I am just a sophomore and have mainly been in large lower division classes. I sporadically go to office hours for the professor and the GSIs know me. Is it usually acceptable to ask a GSI to write a letter and have the professor sign off on it? Also, is it acceptable to get a letter from a class I am currently in? Or should I ask a GSI from a class I took a year ago?</p>
