Ok so here's the situation; i've decided to apply ED to UPenn this fall to the Jerome Fisher program, secondary school is SEAS.
Can't you guess?

show interest by contacting the coach and asking if u could possibly be recruited, and yes if u get recruited u will get in bc athletes dont really have to meet any kind of university academic goals.

sansan...sorry for the newbie question, but what's AA?

oh and duygu...i would say class size around a couple hundred; 200 or 300 tops. It's a small school about 800 students tops

o lol AA is this system where some universities prefer minority races (aka black and hispanic, etc)than others during the admission process

nothing wrong with dat, but u know , it really helps!

AA = afirmitive action

per NCAA rules, you cant get recruited until your junior year ends (im pretty sure this is correct)... afterwards, contact the coach, send tapes, resumes, recs from coaches, etc.

URM+Recruited Athlete... wow, good chances

ooo ok duh!..wow i just had a slow moment, lol. Crouton i have heard of those NCAA rules, but some of me teammates mainly juniors, but even some sophomores have already signed letters of intent for schools like UMD. Stanford, and Duke, so that's why i posted. I was wondering if their was a way of being recruited that i didn't know about, hehe!? But thanks for the adivic, i have alread started filming my games and i even emailed some coaches already. And my coach tells me every practice that w/e school i want to go to he'll harass the coach until i'm a recruit...lol

Ok, cool :)
Your rank is pretty impressive then, by the way.

ur into Penn no doubt about it. U17 Nationa Team?! I'd consider even going pro, maybe even aim a little higher than Penn

If your SAT went up on second try, you'd have as good a shot as any, even without being recruited. With recruit, even with SAT as is, I'd bet you're in.

sandyrun yeah...i play with coach john down in bradenton, we might go to the world cup in Asia this year wink wink, but yea i don't really want to go pro, i mean i wont be stupid if someone gives a decent offer, but i really love penn. I love Philly i love the atmosphere I LOVE IT!! And the Jerome Fisher Program...ITS MADE FOR ME!!! lol....thats really my dream school, i would go there rather than play pro, go to hyp, mit, stanford ANYTHING! lol, yea yall could say I'm a UPenn groupie.

start working on your essays now ! I think you have a good chance.

How're you getting your SAT scores in 10 days? The March SAT scores aren't up till April 4th.

the march SAT scores are available online on the 29th, it says that on the collegeboard site

Keep on trying man...if you give up, you'll never succeed...but if you don't try then you'll never fail!!!

:)

The fact that your a minority will help you a lot. Take the SAT again this fall...make sure critical goes up and you'll get in. Good luck.

your in imo. your sat scores are a bit low but you have incredible ECs. what position do you play?

URM+athlete+rank/GPA= good chances.

concerns:
-your sat scores are too low for M&T and are consquently you're out of the running. (I don't think AA helps that much for M&T specifically)
-you selected SEAs as backup. You don't seem to be interested in engineering and this puts a damper on the situation. Would you perfer to go to wharton instead of engineering? I think I heard somewhere that Wharton takes in many of Penn's recruited athletes.
