getting rescinded from ucsd?

I already posted a thread about this earlier, but there are new developments.

I was accepted to UCSD as a Pre-Writing/Literature major with a 2.5 gpa(3 W, 2 F, you get the picture). My circumstances for doing poorly were explained in my personal statement(had to go back and fourth from school to home to take care of my mother - who had surgery and was unable to do much for a few months). I did a little better my sophomore year and was able to raise my 1.0 gpa to a 2.5(not much, I know).

The problem is I received an F in a calculus class this fall - but I reported it as a NP. I had to file a petition to get the grade changed for the class, but was unable to do so because of a variety of roadblocks(petition reviewer being sick, people not being in office, me leaving for a family trip, etc.). So after trying for about 4 weeks, I gave up and filed a late petition. I was in talks with a counselor for another 2-3 weeks before I was redirected to a higher-up counselor - who promptly rejected my petition.

During the 4 weeks before I was directed to the higher-standing official, the counselor I was talking to informed me that my petition should be able to go through and that things should be okay. Since I was under the impression that the grade would be reverted to a NC, I entered NC for my UCSD application. UCSD later emailed me to confirm that it was indeed a NC, and not an F, and I also confirmed to them that it was an NC. This was all before my petition was rejected.

I called UCSD about the matter yesterday, because I did not want to get rescinded, and they told me that this could be a problem - because the F would have lowered my gpa and I probably would not have been accepted(my gpa was already low enough and I was one of the 3% students to be accepted with a low gpa).

So now that all of that has happened, I am not sure where I stand. I am constantly thinking about getting rescinded every day. However, I am doing well this quarter and am well on my way to fulfilling my provisions(2.5 gpa overall and 2.0 for last quarter).

If anyone can offer some input as to what they think will happen to me, please do so - I am very worried.

bump bump bump
