Getting Rescinded

If I was admitted ED and get rescinded b/c of my grades (mostly C's now) can't I file for complaint? B/c I didnt get an opportunity to apply elsewhere, so I cant go to college (unless you count those 2 year community colleges).

I mean does that mean Penn cant rescind me b/c if they do I will hve no college to attend b/c it WAS B/C OF THEM that I didnt apply elsewhere.

how is this their fault? You gave up on your academics. Your acceptance was never final --it was contingent on your continued performance. You’re going to have a very difficult appeal process. I would imagine they’d overlook your poor performance in light of a legitimate reason --death in immediate family, surgery, illness, etc. If your major illness is senioritis, you’re in hot water.

That’s not legit because people who got accepted RD essentially get “unaccepted” when they don’t send in their deposit by May 1st, and you find out if you get unaccepted in thee summer. So yeah. Raise those grades buddy boy.

actually, when they send you the acceptance letter – they are actually sending you a legal document finalizing the document that you already sent to them in your application. So even if they accidentally accepted you, you would still be able to attend because of the finality of that document. The university would have a hard time rescinding your offer because of this fact. I am sure they can tell you not to come because of poor grades, but legally they would be powerless. Get your grades up anyways though,I am sure you don’t want to come into college with the university breathing down your back.

chances are you won’t get rescinded anyways, but i’m sure they have some legal steps to rescind you without being sued… i’m sure it’s happened before to someone

its too late. grades are finalized essentially before AP exams. oh well

A college can most certainly revoke your admission legally. Rescinding doesn’t happen all that often, though. You’d have to REALLY start bombing (getting D’s and F’s or something). Getting C’s and such on an otherwise strong academic transcript is not going to get you kicked out. Just do the best that you can and don’t freak out about it too much.
