I want to go to UCSD but their aid package is significantly lower I noticed then what I was offered at ucsb, uci and davis. I called in asking the office if there is anyway to increase it and they told me "no". Any one got any recommendations on what I should do?

i guess you just have to ask yourself how much you want to go to there and figure out whether you can get the same experience at any of the other schools you got in to.

personally, i think it doesnt really matter where you go for undergrad, grad school’s gonna cost more so you might as well be in as little debt as possible if you plan on going further in your education. if ucsd’s package isnt that much different from the other schools and you really wanna go there, then by all means go. if its a huge difference, then hey sb, davis and irvine are still good schools.

Yeah, its odd how I’ve been offered $24,000 for UCLA while “only” $14,000 for Cal. Can anyone tell me why there are such drastic differences in financial aid?

I have seen inconsistencies too!

With UCSD I’d only have to take out 8 grand in loans… UC Davis I’d have to take out 9 grand, UCI 9 grand but UCLA I have to take out $12,866!! Lucky me I’m going to UCLA and the money difference isn’t swaying me away…

I have a friend that received about 10 grand more from Berkeley… & foothill you have the opposite! weird!!!
