Is there anything i can do/buy to impove the signal i get? Im lucky to get 3 bars most of the time.

We set up a router in our room last year because we were lucky to ever get a signal (the university told us to just use Ethernet cables). Would this be possible in your room?

To be honest, i cant even find an ethernet port in my room

If you can find an ethernet port in your room, try using an ethernet cord. Sometimes they’re located in weird places.

Last year my ethernet port was approx. 20ft away from the nearest electrical outlet. That was entertaining.

You might want to talk to your campus IT department about possible solutions.

Ethernet is about 20x faster on my campus(5mbps vs 100mbps) so we always use it.

Find the Ethernet port. Look everywhere.

The wifi in my room is pretty much nonexistent. I mean, you can connect, but the network makes you sign in every 5 minutes, and is uber slow, so it’s not even worth it to use anything but the Ethernet connection.

My college decided to get rid of the ethernet network this year. Half of the campus isn’t even back yet and the wireless network is overloaded already. Wish us luck!

That’s stupid. Completely stupid. Who the heck is in charge of their IT department?

Campus wireless networks are already thrashed because most students use laptops and have ipods that connect to it, but leaving it as the only solution?

My campus had one of the top rated wireless networks in the nation by intel and it is still slow(vs Ethernet), unreliable(goes down at least once a week), and overloaded with wireless traffic.
