Hi! I have a friend who's considering CSU Northridge as one of her options; she'll be applying this app season. Her major's religious studies, which appears not to be impacted at all. I know CSU's have some issues with class registration, and I was wondering how hard would it be to get the classes you want/need for a non-popular major such as religious studies. She really likes the school, but with a 4-year graduation rate of 14%, she's concerned about graduating on time. Thanks :)

Hello. It’s not too hard to graduate in four years at CSUN if you are majoring in something that doesn’t have a lot of mandatory classes like religious studies since you can take any classes for the electives. Getting the exact times you want will be a bit tough, however. Your friend should have her four year class schedule planned out from the beginning. If she also wants specific times and classes in a particular semester, she could do something to gain priority registration. There is also a thread that provides tips on scheduling/graduating in time for impacted CSU’s if you go to the cal state general forum. But Northridge is a great university and it is definitely possible to graduate in four years in non-impacted majors if you set out and plan everything ahead of time.

@thunderman15 Ahh that’s reassuring. Thanks for the info!
