who's applying here? Is it a match/reach/safety?
Where else are you applying?

I applied Early Action to URI I guess as a match I had a 3.0gpa unweighted 1140SAT 580verbal 560 math. No honors or AP. I did volunteer work for my church held down a jo was in key club 2 years, ski club 4, high school crew team 4 years, club crew team over summer. I got in but University of Vermont is my first choice, and I am waiting on Uconn because I am instate. Good luck though.

Good luck at Uconn. Anyone else applying to URI?

nope.................

accepted today- 20,000 scholarship .. don't know if I'll attend though.

Wow I didn't think the URI thread would be this unpopular. Guess a lot of the people on CC are mostly super geniuses, but yea I applied to URI Early Action and got accepted into their Pharmacy program with a scholarship for full tuition for 6 years provided I maintain a 3.0 GPA each year. I guess I was kind of excited upon my acceptance, but I only applied to URI as a fall back plan in case all my other schools reject me or don't give me enough aid. To be honest with you guys, URI is not that much different from high school because I have a few friends who go there now and they tell me that they use a lot of textbooks that you would use in high school. This college is only really known for their engineering, oceanography, and pharmacy programs. My parents are forcing me to go there if other schools refuse to give me sufficient financial aid. So I guess that to answer everyone's question, most applicants to URI come from RI high schools and unless you're seriously considering an education in one of the three programs I mentioned, there is not much to expect from this school.

wow really .. does anyone have an answer to this question--> which school is better academically.. URI or quinnipiac U. ? .. which is a better school overall?

I have visited both schools but didnt apply to quinnapiac. They both seemed like good schools to me, Q U seemed geared more toward business and URI seemed more toward the sciences. Bu thats my interpretation. They're both party schools just thought I would add that in there.

My sister is applying to URI next year (she's a junior) for their nursing program. Does anyone know how good it is?
