Getting to know the Class of 2015!

hey guys I’m probably also going to be a freshmen next year at UCSB. (Unless I can get off some waitlists lol) Have any of you guys received financial aid yet from them? Because Davis sent me one, but nothing from UCSB yet…

^check the “unofficial award letter” on the left hand side toolbar thing.

Tanya - every year :(

ahh that suchs, i’m sorry. atleast you can wait till after grad to pay it back. maybe you can make a deal with your parents saying they can pay half and you’ll pay the rest after grad?? i hope they let you go!!

armalite064322- sweet! what’s your name and major? where are waiting to get off the waitlist? i hope you come to SB and join our little group of friends here haha  and yes, i got my financial aid award from my web portal.

hey guys i’m also highly considering going to ucsb next year, i just have a few potential other possibilities. anyway, does anyone know how the freshman housing works at ucsb? is it mostly doubles on a floor with a shared bathroom?

ab1g39- go here [UCSB Housing & Residential Services Home](http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/index.asp)
it tells you all about housing and has floor plans/images so you can get a better understand, but yes i’m pretty sure it’s either double/triples with a boys and girls bathroom on each floor.

Hey, I’m Alexis and I’ve pretty much known I was going to UCSB since a few weeks ago! I’m really excited, I cannot wait! I’m probably going to do the summer start program, which seems really cool. At this point I want to major in history with a minor in chemistry, but the history thing may change to anthropology.
I’m from the Bay and I got to private catholic school, which I’ve been over for the past few months. I visited UCSB during the summer and thought the campus was soooo beautiful, seems like a great place to call home!

Hey everyone!

My name is Jennifer and I’m almost completely positive I’ll be going to UCSB next semester  so hmm… a bit about me. well i’m involved in ASB at my high school which i love. like everyone else, music is my life. i love camping, snowboarding, dirt biking, and wakeboarding. I want to learn how to surf SO BADLY (which shouldn’t be hard to do at UCSB haha). i plan to major in biopsychology and then attend medical school after.

so hello fellow freshmen! :D

Hey Alexis! That’s awesome, but i’m just curious…what do you plan on doing with history and chemistry? UCSB is going to be very different from a private catholic school, but I know you’ll have so much fun!

Jennifer  Where are you from? I want to learn how to surf too! However, if you didn’t read some of the older posts on this…I’m terrified of water (I seriously hyperventilate if I can’t touch the bottom) Hopefully I can get over that haha.

Do you guys know where you want to dorm yet?

[SB PARTY SCENE](http://www.sbpartyscene.com/index.php)

this website is very interesting lol
who’s tryna get buck with me? haha

Zhi is back!

Well, due to some heavy flow of family issues, seems like I won’t be attending SB by the way things are heading. I can’t believe I can’t go where I want to go, and I’m envious of people that can transition from HS to college smoothly with no burdens. Sigh.

Awww Zhi I’m so sorry :frowning: I hope everything works out for you. I know how you feel, atm, my chances of attending UCSB are pretty slim.

tsilva11 I’m Edward and my major is pre-biology. I’m on the waiting list for UCSD, NYU, BU, and Case Western. lol

sweet! I wanted to go to BU but I didn’t get in :frowning: and I’m committing to UCSB! It’s just a smarter choice than going to SLO, because UCSB is a better school/more prestigious and it’s cheaper for me (only a $7k loan, whereas SLO gave me a $12k loan)

tsilva11: i’m from santa clarita, CA. it’s near magic mountain.
and i’m not afraid of water but we can learn to surf together!! haha. i’m not sure where i want to dorm yet. I know I don’t want to dorm at Santa Catalina though because I’d rather be closer to campus.

hahaha @ the SB PARTY SCENE .com Everyone looks pretty attractive but since I’m not a partier… i’m having second thoughts

thanks for that housing info Tanya, i should search the website more :)

@Alexis where in the bay to you live? i live in Palo Alto if you know where that is haha. your majors sound pretty cool, and i agree the campus is beautiful!

@Jennifer i hope to go to medical school too, we should study together to get through some of the premed courses!

ab1g39- you’re welcome :)

oh and my name is Allana, forgot to mention that earlier lol

I’m so sad :frowning: UCSB’s finaid office isn’t awarding me the cal grant after I updted my FAFSA with my parent’s new income. They said they couldn’t consider my family’s financial situation either. Ugh this sucks so much. Looks like community college for me :(
