im gonna be attending wash u this fall and i've only visited it once with my mom. we rented our own car and drove from the airport to the school. i was wondering if there was an easier/safer way (besides taking the taxi) for me to get to school by myself? is the metrolink up yet? how do current wash u students get there?

I visited and stayed two nights in April. If you call the school, they can arrange for a shuttle to pick you up at almost any time. Also, you can take the metro which will bring you very close to the school, although not quite to it since that station is not up yet. I too will be going to WashU in August without my parents coming with me, and I anticipate taking a WashU shuttle.

Students at WashU take the taxi - since you are concerned with safety I am assuming you did not use St. louis County Cab, which are very good and safe. When you step off the plane just call up County Cab and they will have a cab waiting for you. They take TONSSSS of students not they all arrive safely. If not then call the school and arragne for a shuttle. Metro is available but they stop a bit far away from WashU that you will need to take a taxi anyways. I reccomend County Cab, which is fast safe, and clean. good luck

yep, call the school to arrange it for you. if you've been accepted, they'll pay for the trip. :) I had someone there at the airport to pick me up and shuttle me and a few other students to washU
