Getting to that final level on SAT...(Almost there :D)

So I'm a rising junior and on my most recent practice SAT test i got a 2340 (CR: 740 M: 800 W:800 Essay: 11). I'm already estatic about this score. However, is there any advice for keeping that score up or even just going for the 2400? Is there a certain way I should approach the test differently? Also, my plan now is to just memorize more vocabulary since that is my most iffy section. Any other study strategies for reaching that impossible 2400? :D Thanks in advance!

Well memorizing vocabulary will only help if you are missing the completing sentences questions. Otherwise it’s kind of a waste. If you’re stuck on the passages, read the critical reading chapter in the black book, as it really helped me

@smargent ya on this last test of the 4 i missed on cr this time around the vocab ones were the ones that I had to take an educated guess on. Everything else I understand why i missed them

also what black book?

You don’t need a 2400. A 2340 is good enough for any college.

@clarinetkid‌ what would you suggest for just keeping the score there?

All I can say is practice, practice, practice. The SAT is a really systemic test, so the more tests you take, the better you’ll get at it. Do all the practice tests you can get your hands on that are from the CollegeBoard. Don’t waste your time with third-party tests. You’ll soon be able to easily predict which concepts the SAT test, and they don’t change from test to test.

Remember to take into account that you’re scoring 2340 on a practice test taken (assumably) at home. On test day, you might be more nervous, and that could affect your performance. And to be honest, getting a 2400 is partially dependent on luck as well. If the SAT you end up taking is relatively easy w/ a good curve, then you’re in luck. Otherwise, your results may not be as desired. However, like clarinetkid said, once you’re at 2300+, you’re basically at the same level as any other 2400 student because it ends up just being a difference of a few questions between you and someone else.

The Black Book, written by Mike Barrett, is about SAT strategies. I bought it a few weeks ago and I think it is really helpful

@pieguy321‌ Sorry to sort of change the topic focus, but I would like to ask:
1.) was the practice test from the College Board BB?
2.) Did you complete the test entirely in one day, or through a whole week (day by day some sections… etc)

Thanks :)

It was a testmasters test so yes they got it from a college board test. Also followed the guys timing exactly in a realistic testing format. Pretty much it was as close as I could get to a real test experience
