I've been working on my essays for the University of Michigan and keep scrapping them because I feel like they are full of crap...and if i wrote them and feel that way, it will probably seem that way to an admissions officer.
In general my writing style is to work into a topic from a very broad range, but its kind of hard to do that in 250 words, and it just doesn't sound right....if they ask why I picked the major I picked, should I just answer it? without having a story? or talking about how i've always wanted to go into medicine blah blah blah...because it just sounds so cliche....

Say the most important things to you that can fit in 250 words. Make a list of you want them to know, and try to get as much of that across in 250 words. That's what I would do.

just tell them the truth... Nothing sounds better than truth...

thanks for the advice....i got 2 of the essays done last night...im trying to get the last one done right now and i will be all set....wish me luck!
