Getting Worried (Late School forms)

So I met my counselor back in November, but still she has not turned in the school forms. This might just my common app account, but it still says in progress. I have already done my part for the schools and my recommendations have already been turned in a while ago, so all that is left is the counselor's forms. The problem is my first application is due the 1st and I will not be going back to school until the 9th.
Will this hurt me? Thank you for your time.

It will not hurt you, but “in progress” indeed means that your counselor has not finished. Be sure to check with him or her. Counselors are generally given a grace period after the deadline that is not given to students, so you should be fine. But make sure your counselor does finish.

Thank you for the response, it lessened my worries.
I emailed my counselor two days ago, so hopefully she will see it soon.

I’ve read on a number of college websites that although your application must adhere to the deadline, counsellor and teacher recommendations can be late. Colleges understand the volume of recommendations that counsellors are asked to write and because you have little control over your counsellor’s efficiency, it doesn’t reflect poorly on you. The most important thing is that they do get it in time to consider it. Good luck!

NemoStudent, as soon as school is back in session if your common app does not show the school forms/counselor rec have been uploaded go see your counselor. They have a lot of students to get done so you will want to check in person that yours is in the works. Don’t be passive, be pleasant but be persistent.

Thank you both for the replies and tips.
As of now, I still have no email response nor any sight of school forms, so I guess I will visit her first thing January 9th.
