I applied to UCLA for fall '11 and like everyone else on these forums, i'm anxiously awaiting my decision. However, i have a question. I have 6 w's on my transcript and received two of them last fall because of personal reasons. My father was sick and this is the topic i talked about in my essay. Then towards the end of fall '10, my father became ill again with lung cancer and i had to drop these two classes. They don't affect my 60 units, pre reqs nor igetc and i mentioned all of this in my essay. I was wondering if UCLA would reject me for these w's even though they had no effect on any requirements. Would they view this information as alarming because it occurred during the fall before transfer? I'm really freaking out lol

I think you should be fine. You explained the situation in your application and since those classes have no impact on pre-req completion, igetc, or meeting the 60 units then they know & you know you’re not missing any marks.

good luck- hope all is well with your father.

thanks, i appreciate it :)
