Getting your decision today? Read.

A lot of this stuff is rehash of what you can find scrambled throughout the forum already, but figured I'd throw it all in one thread.

First off, good luck to all of you that are getting your decision today. I hope all of you that really want it are happy in a few hours. On to the information.

In years past, decisions were not posted on the admissions page until exactly midnight, however people were able to determine if they were admitted by around 6 PM based on if they owed the $200 admissions deposit. If they don't post the decisions until midnight, go to the make a payment section in the admissions portal, and see if you owe money. If you do, you were accepted. If you don't, you were either denied, deferred, or they didn't post the deposit to your account (in other words, it tells you nothing). Once you see you were admitted, go to the housing sign up page, and try to submit your housing application. If it won't let you, you will have to wait until midnight most likely. If this is the case, get on the housing page at exactly midnight, and sign up for housing! (Don't look up your decision if you already know it... that's a waste of time)

Last year, decisions were actually posted as of 6 PM. I believe people were even able to sign up for housing at that time too. People that signed up after midnight were already in the 600s, so I stress that you need to be prepared to sign up for housing as soon as it's available, which could be as early as 5-6 PM!

When you sign up for housing, your hall priorities and options are not locked until MARCH. You also have 10 days to pay the deposit. In other words, just fill it out and submit it. You can change your choices after you're submitted. That said, if you want to put a top four immediately, my top 4 freshman year were Cawthon, Gilchrist, Wildwood, Degraff.

Pay the deposit within 10 days, or you lose your number. If you don't go to FSU, you will be refunded everything less 50 dollars.

If you are sure you're going to FSU but not sure you want to live on campus, ignore the above. This is a binding agreement that is difficult to get out of.

Again, good luck to everyone getting their decisions, and welcome to all of the new 'Noles!

Matt-
You are the man !!!
Question-
Do you have a direct link for
" go to the make a payment section in the admissions portal, and see if you owe money"
THANKS

where’s the “make a payment” section in admissions?

What if we are not sure that we want to go to FSU yet. Should we still apply for Housing??? I just dont want to waste that much money if I’m not sure yet

You only lose $50 if you end up not attending FSU. Even if you aren’t sure you are attending FSU, it is a very good idea to fill out the housing application and pay the deposit. If you end up attending FSU, you will be thankful you did so, and if you don’t attend FSU, you are only out $50.

I seem to remember there being some link for making payments or money owed. I don’t have access to an admissions portal to find it.

See if this works for you (blackboard link):

https://campus.fsu.edu/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp?tab_tab_group_id=_19_1

Should be the same link as when you paid the application fee.

As for the housing link:
https://nwrdc.fsu.edu:1204/fsysrr00

If you are not sure if you’re going to FSU but know that if you do go to FSU you are going to live on campus, I recommend paying the deposit and taking the $50 risk.

Only way you should not do it is if you might live off campus at FSU.

right now mine says total owed is $200

… is that good!!!

Means you were accepted. Congratulations!

These are done in batches to my knowledge. If it doesn’t show up for you yet, it doesn’t mean you didn’t get in. But if you owe, you’re in.

Description Category Due Date Amount Due
ADMISSIONS DEP ADMISSIONS 05/01/2012 $200.00
Subtotal:$200.00

yes

yes

yesss

HYES!!

Me too! Omgomgomg

is this real life? lol mine says it too but i’m having doubts. i got deferred from ucf and i’m out of state… but i applied for summer

Is that like 100% true??? That if it says that you got in?!?!

yeah i really want to know asap. i am able to pay it now if i wanted.

I’d call it a 99.9 percent chance you’re in. Nobody has ever posted here that they didn’t get in after they owed the money.

Are you sure this means you are in? I’m going to feel dumb posting a facebook status!

I’d make the status.

I’d wait to be 100% sure!

Me too… I really want to make it my status but I cannot believe it yet lol

Hahaha same here with the status thing…and then there’s the 0.1% chance that it’s not true or something and that would just be embarrassing. It hasn’t sunk in yet. At all. It will when I see the page with fireworks and whatever saying I got accepted!!!

My 2 best friends also have to pay the $200 fee! :)
