Gettysburg College Hopefuls 2016

found out Son got in today in mail, thrilled, generous aid, merit award, will have to make another visit!

Accepted! Did not apply for fin. aid, did not receive merit, live 2.5 hrs from campus. Good luck everyone!!

s accepted small merit, no financial. Doesn’t look good.

Got accepted today. Since our acceptances came in so early should I read anything into it, other than my lastname starts with an A and I live in NJ. Congradulations to everyone. Still waiting to hear from 4 other schools.

Accepted in FL! Nice merit scholarship but no aid (wasn’t expecting any).

My son received his acceptance today along w/ a merit scholarship. No financial aid, but was not expecting any. We live in NJ and online has not yet been updated to reflect the acceptance.

D was accepted today with a Lincoln scholarship. :)

We are in Md, about 40 miles south of Gettysburg.

Accepted! However, even with the scholarship, my family cannot afford it. Oh, well! I’m just happy to have been accepted!

MyGettysburg says it will not post your admissions decisions. I recieved a letter in the mail for acceptance and scholarship.

I got an acceptance letter/merit scholarship letter/financial aid package today. Do you guys know why I recieved it so early while many others are still waiting> I thought it was because of the scholarship, but others who have recieved responses have been waitlisted.

FYI, last year they had a program for all accepted Lincoln scholars the day before Get Acquainted Day, which I think is April 21 this year. It wasn’t a major deal, but it was nice. They had a current scholar speak to the students, they had breakout groups where the students got to meet a professor in the dept. that they indicated they might like to major in, and there was a reception at the President’s house. I also saw signs for another scholarship group, although I don’t remember which one, so there are probably other programs for other scholarship winners that day.

I got my acceptance letter yesterday. The financial package was better than I ever expected. I got all scholarships and Grants. The only loan I have is the Stafford and that for a small amount!

Can those of you who were accepted post their stats?

I was accepted and received the presidential scholarship with a GPA of 88UW\96.8W (top 15% in class) with 9 AP classes, SAT 2200, SATII 1530 (out of 1600).

Acceptance letter came yesterday, and my financial aid package is UNREAL. It is way more than I could ever possibly imagine, and way more than I could have asked for, and WAY more than any other school gave me.

2040 SATs, 4 AP/Honors, and 4.0 weighted GPA.

Does anyone have any idea what time of day the Lincoln Scholars day starts? We’re traveling about 8 hours and need to figure out if we need to come the day before or just get up early.

Thank you!

Stats:

Rank: 7/270
UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.337
10 AP/Honors courses
SAT: 2040 (CR: 700, W: 770, M: 570)

I suspect that my lovely math score barred me from a better Merit Aid package (got rather preoccupied, and didn’t get to prepare for said section)! Like I said, though, just happy to have been accepted! Congrats to the Class of 2016! The more I think about Gettysburg College, the more I love it!

Son’s stats:

SAT: 1890
W GPA: 3.9
5 AP courses, rest honors
School does not rank
A lot of leadership service inside/outside of school
Outstanding interview with admissions

Really loved the campus and school, just need to compare costs to others!

rmcpnh,

Neither my daughter nor I remember exactly what time the Lincoln Scholar’s Day began, but I do know it was NOT first thing in the morning. Our drive is about 5 hours if everything goes right, and we drove down the same day. Of course, we allowed more time than that, and we both remember hanging out at McDonald’s to kill some time. (In fact, she changed from her traveling clothes to her presentable clothes there). I don’t recall being served a meal (but we may have been), just appetizers at the president’s house, so it may well have been early afternoon. It is not extremely long, and it’s not a must-do. I think Get Acquainted Day starts around 8 am the next day. I’m sure if you give the college a call or send an email, they’d be happy to give you the exact times. Eight hours makes our drive seem short!

Stats:

Weighted GPA: 3.82
SAT: R 570 M 680 W670
2 AP’s this year
no rank, from CT
Got the founders scholarship
