Gettysburg College vs University of Richmond

Which college is more generous with regard to financial aid for international students?

As in, which one (Gettysburg or Richmond) is more likely to accept an international student who is asking for aid?

You could ask both universities about the extent to which financial aid is available to international students.

Unfortunately, it’s mostly the Ivy League schools and their peer universities which offer generous financial aid to international students. Gettysburg and Richmond are not Ivy peers.

You could ask in the Financial Aid section (click “Financial Aid” on the left-hand side of the page to get there.) Several people who are very familiar with financial aid frequent that section.

While I no longer work at Richmond (and really need to get a new CC screen name) I can let you know that they offer generous aid to SOME international students. The competition is high for large awards, but there are a number of international students every year who enroll at Richmond with substantial financial assistance.
A friend of mine got into Richmond and he didn’t go there, in part because of the atrocious financial aid. Furthermore, Richmond is just so expensive for a non-elite school. Take that for what it is worth.

Thanks all!!! But, I’ll be applying to Richmond. URichmond’s location suits me better.

Richmond is a wonderful school with rigorous academics, gorgeous campus and superb reputation. Its very much worth the money, if you ask me. But I am not you.

Whether they give you aid, I cannot tell you. I can only attest to the fact its just a marvelous school that is every bit as rigorous and prestigious as some of the bigger name schools. Its in the shadow of Washington and Lee, UVa and William and Mary. But who cares?
