Ghost Stories

Has anyone experienced any scary stories involving ghost or unexplainable situations at any college? If so, please share your experiences! X_X :D

There was a stout, bald-headed, ghost-like man standing in front of the classroom. It/he introduced itself/himself as the finance professor.

At college? No.
I’m in college and my house is haunted right now. In undergrad, my apartment was haunted.
I’ve had several other ghost encounters, too, but none on campus.

I was an undergraduate at a Seven Sisters school back in the 1980s. This was before the boom in putting up new buildings and rehabbing old ones. My dorm had been built in the 1800s, and the top floor had a mansard roof. For some reason, the town fire marshal had deemed this unsafe, so no one was allowed to live up there. The doors at the top of the stairwell were locked with a heavy chain.

There was also a legend about a ghost who haunted that floor, and the rumors all said that she was the real reason the floor was sealed off. Supposedly, a student in the 1950s had cut her own throat because her boyfriend (a cadet at West Point) had broken off their engagement. She’d done it right there in her room.

I heard about all this when I was a freshman. A senior named Mark told me, and boy did he have a story. The year before, he’d talked the night watchman into borrowing the key that unlocked the chain so he could sneak a girl up there for some kicks. All the rooms were unlocked, and all the beds and stuff were still inside. There were no light bulbs in the ceiling lamps, but that was OK. Ooh lah lah.

So Mark and this girl went up there one night. He didn’t want to be disturbed, so Mark brought the chain into the hall and locked the doors from inside. The point is, no one else could get in or out the whole time they were there.

The problem was that Mark’s date got too scared. Before things had gone too far, she panicked and insisted that Mark let her out. Mark was a player, but he was also a gentleman, and he unlocked the chain so she could leave. What he did next made no sense at all. He locked the chain from the inside again and went back to the room where he’d been before. He ended up smoking a little weed and falling asleep.

When he woke up, it was because his date had come back and was kissing him in the dark. At least, he thought it was her. He wasn’t exactly thinking straight. Long story short, they made love without speaking a word. Then the girl left. Mark assumed she’d gone to the bathroom. After a while, when she hadn’t come back, Mark put on his pants and went to look for her. She wasn’t in the bathroom or any of the other rooms.

That was when he realized that the doors to the hall were still chained up from the inside. Either Mark had dreamed the encounter, or he’d made love to a ghost. Or maybe he just made the whole story up.

OK so I’m in my last year of school. I moved to another country with my grandparents who work at the US embassy (they are mostly away from home)! I moved here 6 months ago.

A couple of weeks ago, I was lying in my bed watching White Collar on my laptop. It was 11 pm and I was very tired so I kinda dozed off. I had my eyes closed for just 15 seconds and all of a sudden, something takes a hold of my leg and drags me across my bed. I am in no way kidding, nor do I do drugs. I never really believed in supernatural beings and ghosts, but this freaked me out so much! I can still remember it hold my leg, and it gives me the chills everytime I think about it. This could not have been hallucination, since I opened my eyes while I was being dragged! This is just the first of these incidents that have occurred since I moved!

Then again, 2 weeks ago, I had just returned from the airport. I went to see my parents who live in another country. I went into the store room to put my empty luggage and I saw a figure behind the curtain. It was not clear. I wouldn’t call it a figure but I believed something was behind it. I ran the hell out of there to my grandmother and chose to sleep that night with her!

Two nights ago, I was in my bed reading a magazine when I heard loud thumps right outside my bedroom door. As if someone was stomping their foot on the floor. I was alone so my first instinct was that a robber broke in, so I grabbed my handgun (I keep one just to be safe) and locked my door and aimed the gun at it! I stood still for 10 minutes and finally chose to go outside. I went around the whole house searching and checking the windows and doors! Everything was in order, but I swear I heard the sound!

This might seem like a lie, or that I’m making stuff up. But I promise this is all true. Like I said, I never really believed in ghosts and demons, until this started happening!

P.S I also called my mom to tell her about these incidents and she told me that I’ve always had bad luck in this house, whenever I came here for summer vacations. I broke my ankle when I was 3, fell of the stairs and broke my elbow, got myself electrocuted (pretty sure that was my fault) and also cracked my head and had to get stitches.

I know this isn’t a college incident, but I thought it was worth sharing!
