GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program

Hi everyone! Newbie here. My husband is active duty military and would like to transfer his post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to our son, who is a Junior in high school this year. We are in the beginning stages of research and wondered if the benefits are given during the grant/scholarship portion or after? I have been using the net price calculators on various sites and wondered if the GI Bill funds are usually used for the family's net price to attend or if the grants are reduced by that amount and the net price would stay the same? I would also welcome any specific info on the Yellow Ribbon Program. I have googled but havent talked to anyone who has experience with it. Thanks!

There are a couple of threads on this topic a bit further down in this forum, so if you keep scrolling, you should hit them eventually. I’d also suggest that you take a look at the Veteran’s sub-forum that can be found under the heading “Specialty College Admissions Topics” inside the College Admissions Forum. It is not as active as this one, but the posters are friendly and supportive. Some of them should have ideas for you: [Veterans - College Confidential](Veterans - College Confidential Forums)

Wishing you all the best!
